Devan Wisson is an Associate Lawyer at Dostal Law and a proud Brantford native, bringing a thoughtful, client-centred approach to every matter she handles. Known for her approachable style and meticulous attention to detail, Devan ensures clients feel heard, understood, and supported from the initial consultation through to resolution.
Devan’s practice focuses primarily on civil law, where she assists clients with employment matters, contract disputes, and property-related issues. She represents clients through all stages of litigation, including motions, applications, and trial preparation, providing clear guidance and strategic advocacy throughout the process.
In addition to her civil practice, Devan represents individuals facing provincial and criminal charges, including driving offences, assault-related allegations, and youth matters. She has appeared before the Provincial Offences Court, the Ontario Court of Justice, and the Superior Court of Justice, offering steady representation in high-stakes and complex proceedings.
Devan’s legal training is both international and diverse. She earned a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) from Western University before relocating to the United Kingdom, where she completed her Bachelor of Laws at the University of Exeter and a Master of Laws in Professional Legal Practice (Distinction) from The University of Law. While abroad, Devan worked with a national firm, gaining experience in wills, probate, and estate administration, and supporting clients through sensitive and personal legal matters.
After seven years abroad, Devan returned to Brantford, completed her bar examinations, and qualified to practise law in Ontario. Today, she combines her international training with strong local insight to serve clients throughout Brantford and the surrounding communities with professionalism, care, and diligence.
Devan is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and the Brant Law Association and is a Legal Aid Ontario panel lawyer for criminal matters.
